Winter 2017 Afterschool Programs and December Studio sessions Info

UP NEXT:
DECEMBER Studio!! DRAW-PAINT-PRINT 2.0
Explore and learn through fun, open-ended drawing, painting and printmaking activities! We will use drawing, painting, new media, and printmaking to create 'multiples' of work. Artists should bring a favourite interest, idea, toy, or story to work with. Think about making a Holiday artwork, cards or gift!!
This session runs Tuesdays(ages 6-10) or Wednesdays(ages 8-12)
November 22 through Dec 14th.
$85. for 4 weeks -  All materials included
3:45 - 5:30 with healthy snack.  Pick up from Tom Thomson available.

STARTING JANUARY 24TH:
Studio 1   TUESDAYS - Artmaking with a twist continues:
For ages 6-10  -  all materials included
4:00 - 5:30 with healthy snack.  Pick up from Tom Thomson available.
$125. per 6 week session

Free-choice time and materials are always included in every studio.
A)  Jan. 24th thru Feb. 28th :  "White is..."
We'll explore the colour wheel, form, rhythm, temperature and even the sounds of colour through paint, paper mache and performance!
B) March 21st thru April 25th :  "Weather Report"
We'll draw, paint, perform and otherwise very creatively participate in our weather through artmaking!
C) May 9th thru June 13th :  "Drawing and Design Club"
We'll draw, design, create and invent things that make sounds and/or have moving parts!  We will be learning about, and how to use, some power tools...No saws!Goggles provided!

Studio 2  WEDNESDAYS -  STEAM Workshops continue:
We'll continue to explore science and nature in our artmaking, with inventiveness, imagination, and creativity. See below for details.Group projects will continue to work out mechanical and animatronic making. 
For ages 8-12  -   all materials included
4:00 - 5:30 with healthy snack.  Pick up from Tom Thomson available.
$125. per 6 week session
Free-choice time and materials are always included in every studio.
A) Jan. 24th thru Feb. 28th
- we'll try to convey rhythm and contrast, and work with colour as an element of design.

B) March 21st thru April 25th Drawing, painting, sculpture, and hands-on technology explorations are included as we artfully imagine interactivity and try to map our experiences of the weather.
C) May 9th thru June 13th  will be a "Drawing and Design Club"
We'll continue to focus on drawing, design, and invention that has interactive  and/or moving elements!  We'll brainstorm ways to make our inventions useful, make practical and speculative sketches, and learn how to use some power tools (No saws! Goggles provided!). As with all ArtClubs, we'll practice how to present and support our ideas.
